Karma Takes On Liptember
Karma Jay Green does her part to tackle women’s mental health during Liptember.
Young local Karma Green will pucker up with some bright lippy colours in the name of women’s mental health during Liptember.
“I’m a pretty big advocate for women’s mental health,” Ms Green said.
“I have suffered mental health myself for several years.
“I feel we need to get awareness out there that it’s okay to be dealing with mental health.”
Ms Green said women’s mental health had gotten really out of control, but people needed to know that they were not alone.
“The more we talk about it the more accepted it will become,” she said.
“We’re not villains.”
A body piercer who is soon starting a tattoo apprenticeship, Ms Green said that she was going to mix up her colour options instead of sticking with one for the entire month.
“I’m a little bit out there, a bit eccentric,” we said.
Liptember came about in 2010 after a couple of friends got together to address the issue of women’s mental health.
The idea was to make a statement with bright lipstick, get people talking about women’s mental health and raise money for research.
