The weather might have been hot last weekend, but nothing could stand in the way of a massive tree planting exercise at the St John’s Kindness Garden.
Thanks to a generous donation of 40 trees from Boorowa Rotary, a working bee was organised on Saturday 18 March.
In attendance, with sleeves well-and-truly rolled up, were volunteers from Boorowa Rotary, Boorowa Lions, St Johns Anglican Church, Boorowa Community Garden, and Boorowa Central School along with friends and neighbours.
Luckily the holes were dug earlier on in the week by Boys to the Bush and lads from Boorowa Central School as part of the Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee Program.
A very special thank you was given to Gay Stanford and the Rotary Club of Boorowa by the organiser, Sorubi, who went on to say, “We can just imagine how beautiful this space will look as the trees grow and fill the grounds with gorgeous blossoms in the spring and fall colours in the autumn. We hope it will always be a place of beauty, joy, comfort and friendship for everyone in our town.”
