The inspirational woman behind the new Koorawatha Co-op, Anita Joliffe was thrilled with her grand opening on Mother’s Day weekend.

“The opening weekend was really great,” Ms Joliffe said.

“It looked good and everyone had a great time.”

Ms Joliffe said she expected the next weekend to be a little slower given the cooler weather, but they have made arrangements to tempt people out of their homes anyway.

“We’re shifting the seating to a three-bay area just nearby and we’re going to have heating and throw rugs to make it cosy,” Ms Joliffe said.

“It looks like the retail shed is going to be ready sooner than we thought.”

“Someone is already interested in running fruit and veg and a little deli.”

Ms Joliffe said along with her usual fare, she will be including some hearty warm meals like sausage hotpot and potato and bacon soup to warm the innards on a cold winter’s day.

Her other idea was to run an event coinciding with the weekly weekend co-op, so on the first weekend in July, there will be a car boot sale.

So head along to the car boot sale and while you’re there don’t forget to grab something yummy from Ms Joliffe.

Of course, this weekend you could catch the Old Skool Cool Car Show at Koorawatha, with registrations taking place on the day between 9 am and 11 am before kicking off around 11 am for visitors and judging.

Why not enjoy something delicious courtesy of the team at Koorawatha Co-op before, after, or both of the excitement?
