Work on the refurbishment of the Koorawatha Police Station and residence is nearly complete.

Repairs and upgrades included in the work on both the Police Station and the residence were hazmat remediation, a new roof, new air conditioning, kitchen, floor and window coverings, as well as a septic system.

Work scheduled to be completed next month includes installing CCTV with remote access view from Young Police Station and other security features and improvements to the Police Station.

The station also welcomed a new officer. Senior Constable Andrew Campbell started work in Koorawatha last week.

Members of the NSW Police, Hilltops Council and the local community, as well as Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke visited the station last week to celebrate the refurbishment and welcome Senior Constable Campbell to the area.

Ms Cooke said she was delighted at the refurbishment work. “Koorawatha deserves a police presence and I am so pleased this residence has been brought up to scratch and will now be home to Senior Constable Campbell and his partner,” Ms Cooke said. “I know the Koorawatha community will warmly welcome them.”

“I want to congratulate Property NSW and all the local contractors who were part of this extensive work. This is an investment in community safety, local peace of mind and infrastructure.”
