The Boorowa Rugby Club raised a whopping $20,092.20 at their 2023 Ladies Day on Saturday, June 24 when they faced off against rival team, the Young Yabbies.

A spokesperson from the Club said the impressive dollar amount would not have been possible without the ongoing support from the generous people a part of Boorowa and the Rugby community.

“To everyone that purchased an auction item, bought a beer, wine or steak sandwich at the canteen, volunteered on the day, attended the Ladies Lunch, cheeried on the Goldies and Goldilocks and got involved with the festivities at the bar after, we send our thanks to all of you and look forward to another huge Ladies Day in 2024,” the spokesperson said.

Boorowa Hotel, the Club’s main sponsor, hosted the successful, heartfelt Ladies Day Lunch and Charity Auction.

Boorowa Rugby Club donated $15,000 to CanAssist Young and Boorowa and over $5000 to the Nathan Stapleton Spinal Injury Fund.

The final figure was announced the same week as the team’s devastating loss against Blayney - Goldies 10 vs Blayney 12.

Even though they played in intensely cold conditions, a loyal crowd of Boorowa spectators came to cheer the boys across the line and to represent the beautiful community.

Hopes are high for the Goldies and Goldilocks to bring home a win from their next game in Temora on Saturday, July 15.
