Lions Club Supports Scout Group

At a recent Lions Club Young dinner meeting, Corey McIntyre spoke about the local Scout Group and his attempts to reinvigorate the group.

He spoke about creating interest for the youths where they learn skills of involvement, leadership, serving others and encouraging confidence for their future roles in society.

Mr McIntyre has several youths currently attending and the Lions believe the group’s continuation would be a benefit to the town and its youth.

Lions President, David Hughes expressed their appreciation and support by presenting Mr McIntyre with a donation cheque.

The donation to the Scouts was part of approximately $20,000 disbursed at the Lions changeover.

Lions raise funds in Young and distribute to various entities where a need can be met, like the Scouts.
