COVID-19 Lockdown will be extended in the Hilltops LGA for a further week, until October 1.

There was little choice for NSW Health than to extend stay-at-home measures.

The area will need to record no new cases for 14 consecutive days for lockdown to lift.

Further, two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in the Hilltops Local Government Area to 8pm last night.

One of the cases is isolating outside of the region. These cases will be included in NSW Health’s numbers today.

These cases bring the total number of cases in Hilltops LGA to 14, and the total to 18 cases in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) since the start of the current outbreak.

Children and a teenager have contracted the disease in Young.

New places have been added to the vences of concern list, which now stands at:

  • Young Bunnings on Saturday 11 Sept 12.25pm – 12.35pm and Thursday 16 Sept 2.40pm – 2.50pm
  • Young Woolworths on Monday 13 Sept 9.45am - 9.50am and Thursday 16 Sept from 2.30pm - 12.40 pm
  • Young Big W on Tuesday 14 Sept from 5.30pm – 5.50pm
  • Young Aldi on Monday 13 Sept 9.10am – 9.40am
  • Young Laverty Pathology on Monday 13 September 2.40pm – 2.50pm
  • J&L Pet Shop on Monday 13 Sept
  • Keith Simmons Engineering on Saturday 11 Sept 12.45pm – 12.55pm
  • Young KFC on Friday 10 Sept 4pm – 9.30pm or Saturday 11 Sept 12pm – 3pm
  • Young MedCIRCm on Tuesday 14 Sept 11.30am - 12pm or Wednesday 15 Sept 12:10pm to 1:45pm
  • Young Service NSW on Monday 13 Sept 3pm to 4pm or Wednesday 8 Sept 12:10pm to 12:40pm
  • Young Diagnostic Imaging on Wednesday 15 Sept 2pm - 2:30pm, or
  • Boorowa Hotel (Top pub) on Saturday 11 Sept 10.30am – 12.30pm.

Anyone who visited the venues at these times should get tested immediately, and self-isolate until getting a negative result.

MLHD Jill Ludford Chief Executive has commended residents for coming out in such high numbers for testing this week.

Highest vaccination levels with nearly 3,000 last week and nearly 42,000 since March.

  • Young Mosque, Mon - Fri, 9.00 am – 3.30 pm, walk in only
  • Laverty Pathology drive through, 63821599 for testing appointments and instruction on location and times for drive through.
