Young Society of Artists Inc (YSA) Members Only Art Exhibition Retrospect - Looking Back opened on Saturday, September 10, with morning tea.

Members provided a personal profile and their art practice for this exhibition, giving visitors an opportunity to learn a little about the members of YSA and see just how diverse they are in their own art practice.

The exhibition is a collection of art works that best describe the artists’ own passion and love of art.

It will remain open to the public until Saturday, October 15. Organisation for the 2022 YSA 39th Annual Art Exhibition to be held in the Young Town Hall during the Young Cherry Festival is in full swing.

YSA members are thrilled to announce that with post-Covid restrictions over it will once again be a competitive fine arts exhibition.

The exhibition is a major event on the Cherry Festival program, with a large number of entries expected.

Artworks will be on display in the Town Hall for five days only, from November 30 to December 4.

The official opening, complete with awards, door prizes, light refreshments and live music by singer song-writer Judy Barker is open to everyone.

Competition entries are due by Wednesday, November 16.

With 11 categories and over $5000 prize money, kindly donated in sponsorship by local businesses to be won, now is the time for artists to get creative.

Two Acquisitive Prizes sponsored by Grove Estate and YLAD living soils;

People’s Choice Award sponsored by Hilltops Council; and Twenty two art prizes sponsored by The Young Work Wear Centre, Young Lions Club, Young Services Club, Young Eyes Optometry, Framaglass, Southwest Slopes Credit Union, Matthew Houston Meats, Blantyre Farms, Label A Clothing, J Trudgett, Annabell Wallace Gallery, Young Town Hall News Agency, YSA Inc Gallery 78.

Entry forms are available from the Young Town Hall, Southern Cross Cinema, Young Hilltops Visitors Centre and Burrangong Gallery.
