If you enjoy today’s multicultural street party in Boorowa, you’re going to love the one scheduled for Harden next Thursday, April 21.

Hilltops Council has partnered with the Boorowa Business Chamber and Harden Regional Development Corporation to help rejuvenate the local economy.

They have received funding from The Festival of Place Summer Night Fund which gives NSW Councils the opportunity to support community wellbeing and economic recovery following COVID lockdowns.

Hilltops Council also received funding from Multicultural NSW and Youth NSW, so they have decided to combine those funds to put on two massive street parties.

Hilltops Tourism and Events Manager said that they had run a similar event in Young last year.

“Last year’s event was well supported.”

“That’s why the team thought it important Boorowa and Harden were able to have their own street parties.”

“We’re really excited to be working with our local business industry and supporting our community after the last two years.”

The parties will help reinvigorate and activate the evening and night-time economy of the Hilltops region and boost foot traffic through our towns and in our local businesses in a fun and unique way.

These events also support the community’s entertainment and hospitality sectors that have been hard hit by COVID.

Local singers Hovert Gonzales and Louise Saint John will provide musical performances and there will be a range of amazing multicultural performances including Afrobeats, Bollywood and Filipino dance groups.

Each event will have a roaming magician, bubble artist, giant games, face painting, arcade games and a photobooth, with happy snaps sent straight to your phone.

There will be a free outdoor screening of In The Heights from 7 pm at the Mechanics Institute in Harden.

Participating businesses have their own special promotions from internationally themed cuisines to discounted store items.

This is a great opportunity to support local businesses and have a great night out with family and friends at the same time.

Each event will begin at 4:30pm.

A full list of participating businesses can be found on the Hilltops Region Facebook and Instagram pages.
