Some things are worth waiting for - even if the waiting causes frustration.
Residents will be happy to hear that, while it may have taken a little longer than anticipated, the Murrimboola Creek project is coming together nicely. In fact, it is moving towards completion.
The new causeway bridge is in place, and the park’s design features are being completed and incorporated with the finished barbecue seating area and new amenities block.
Murrimboola Creek is a modern and highly attractive area for the Hilltops residents and for the visitor economy, putting Harden Murrumburrah on the tourist map.
Mill owner Greg Medway said Harden Murruburrah was fast becoming a major tourist destination and the gateway to the Hilltops region. He said the design of the Murrimboola Creek precinct complemented the Silo Artworks and the Bill the Bastard monument in nearby Mill Park, Murrumburrah.
“Also being completed nearby is the HRDC Silo Artworks’ viewing platform and the development of historical garden surrounds,” Mr Medway said.
He said the artwork on the nearby twin silos, the only ones in Australia to feature paintings on both the eastern and western sides, depicted two different historical aspects and, coupled with the Bill the Bastard monument, would draw visitors to the community and boost the local economy.
The Murrimboola Creek project was made possible thanks to the $3m funding from the Government’s Building Better Regions.
