The theme for the recital, performed by local artists Julie O’Connor (soprano), Peter O’Connor (tenor) and Stewart Bruce (piano), is ‘the romance of spring’.
As usual, the church’s magnificent Yamaha S6X grand piano will be put to great use for the recital, which promises a varied program of piano solos, vocal duets and vocal solos that are sure to please, with something to suit everybody.
The program will include light classical piano including a famous theme known world-wide and composed by a musician who, in recent times, lived just 20 minutes from Harden.
Julie and Peter will entertain with songs from the musicals including some jazz numbers and “The Prayer”.
The Ross Memorial Church has renowned acoustics and a unique sloping floor that lend real atmosphere when this beautiful stone building is used for musical performance.
Entry is by cash donation at the door.
Card facilities will not be available.
All proceeds will go to The Hub, a Tuesday social program for older folk in the local community, organised by Flexible Care Services in Harden.
Following the recital of an hour and a bit, all are welcome to join the artists for afternoon tea in the church hall.
