Murrumburrah Students Receive Books From Rotary
Students from Murrumburrah Public School received their books from Harden-Murrumburrah Rotary Club last week.
Students from Murrumburrah Public School received a visit from members of the Harden-Murrumburrah Rotary Club who came bearing gifts - again. Last year, the local Rotary Club gifted each public school child with a free book.
This year, they gifted them with two, one earlier in the year and one last week.
They were approached by the teachers at Bunyip Preschool who wanted to get in on the action.
Rotary member Rita O’Connor thanked the school and its students for their reception and acceptance of their program.
“It is always a delight to see kids engage with books and with each other in discussion,” Ms O’Connor said.
One way the local Rotary Club has successfully supported the community and made a difference is in the focus area of basic literacy and education.
Ms O’Connor and the Rotary Club have also been instrumental in starting up the Harry Potter Reading Club at the local library.
