The group’s new flag was on display in the foyer of the club at the June meeting of the Lambing Flat Young Fellowship of Australian Writers (FAW).

This flag, courtesy of Design and Print, will be used for all of FAW’s upcoming events and meetings.

Eight members attended the meeting with all items of business completed quickly, followed by a half-hour writing exercise and an hour for appraising each other’s homework stories.

Everyone gave valuable and constructive feedback for members to improve their writing.

Ted Webber was presented with a thank you gift and card for his work as the group’s Annual Writing Competition Assistant and email coordinator for the past 15 years.

His contribution has helped to build the local competition to the large national competition it has become.

The 41st annual competition will be launched soon.

Three members attended the recent Jugiong Writers Festival which was a wonderful and extremely well-run day, with eight guest authors from many different genres.

Each author offered valuable, down-to-earth advice on writing and how they researched and wrote their own books.

Meetings of the Lambing Flat Young Fellowship of Australian Writers are held on the second Monday of the month, excluding December and January, at Young Services Club from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The next meeting will be held on July 10. Everyone is welcome to join in.

Contact the president, Maree Myhill at 0427 017 884 or the vice president, Jennifer Haynes on 0457 903 240.
