IMAGE: A new bird monitoring training session will be held on Sunday, September 25.

New Project Officer at Boorowa Community Landcare Group, Amber Kelly has announced a Bird Monitoring Training session for participating landholders and interested members of the community in partnership with the NSW Government’s Saving Our Superb Parrot (SoS) Program.

The training, conducted by Pat Downey, will take place on Sunday, September 25 from 8:30 am to 11 am and is hosted by Chris and Ingrid Corcoran.

Interested parties are asked to RSVP to Amber Kelly at officebclg@gmail.com or 0419 239 492 by tomorrow, September 23 and meet at the front gate of Ballagh via Ballyryan Road, Boorowa on Sunday.

Participants are asked to bring along their own food, drink, and binoculars and to wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a paddock walk.

Amber Kelly grew up on a sheep and mixed cropping farm in the great southern region of Western Australia.

After high school, Ms Kelly spent a year in sales for an electrical retailer before relocating to the eastern states to attend Marcus Oldham College in Victoria where she completed a Diploma of Equine Business Management and a Bachelor of Agribusiness.

At the end of 2013, she moved to Rugby with her husband and spent 12 months working at Yass Valley Veterinary as a receptionist before commencing as a secretary at Newhaven Park Stud.

Ms Kelly worked at Newhaven Park Stud for five years.

She and her husband Peter own a 2500-acre prime lamb and beef cattle operation in Rugby and have a young family.
