News From Canassist Harden

Last year’s debutantes at the Harden Debutante Ball organised by CanAssist.
The Harden Branch of CanAssist has had a very busy start to the year, with no sign of slowing down.
Their March meeting was held on Wednesday the 5th of March at the Lighthorse Hotel. While there was a small attendance, it was a fruitful meeting.
ANZAC Day is fast approaching and the local RSL committee has requested the branch lay a wreath at the service. This was unanimously agreed to with 2 members attending and laying a wreath.
Head Office have advised their regional meeting will be held in Parkes on Saturday the 10th of May, so 2 representatives from the Harden branch will be attending.
NSW local Member Steph Cooke, has indicated she is happy to be invited to attend any fundraising event of the branch and the branch will advertise when this is to take place.
Raffles will be running again in April, with tickets on sale outside Supabarn on Thursday the 3rd and Saturday the 5th.
Committee representative Maxine Davis said, “This will be our Easter raffle with lots of goodies. Once again Supabarn has generously donated to our raffle. Please remember to support those that support you – the best way to thank them.”
The CanAssist Debutante Ball is being held on Friday the 16th of May at the Harden Country Club.
“We have 6 lovely debutantes making their debut and again we are looking at a wonderful night for them. Michelle and her group have everything in hand. More details on the ball will be advertised in coming weeks, however we do have a major raffle being run in conjunction with it. Keep a look out for this as it will be another amazing effort from Allison putting it together.”
“We would like to acknowledge Jimmy Spackman who is very kindly donating 3 loads of wood for our raffles this year.
Look out for these raffles which will be after Easter and the Ball,” said Maxine.
“We have a number of people who regularly donate prizes to us for our raffles; we are so grateful for their ongoing support, and everyone that helps us in any way.”
The total raised at the Red Devil’s Golf Day held in February was a huge $7,673.
“What a fantastic effort. We thank them so very much for their amazing effort. It was a fun day out and very well organised.”
“Don’t forget to hop online through Facebook to the Sacred Syndicate SMC group camper van raffle being held for us. This is to be drawn on Saturday 17 May at the Harden Country Club.”
