The NSW SES Harden Unit will answer all your questions at an information night at Jugiong tonight at 7 pm.

NSW SES Harden Unit will host a community information night in Jugiong tonight, April 18 at 7 pm near the police station.

Members of Harden unit will be in Jugiong to answer your questions about the local Community Action Team (CAT), and how you can join to help your community become more prepared, safe and resilient.

CATs provide additional resources and skills that can be called upon to assist preparing your local community against threats from severe weather events and natural disasters.

Unit Commander Thomas Hogg said that the unit was always looking for more volunteers and welcomed them from all walks of life. Whether you’re handy on the power tools or are passionate about community engagement, you could make a difference.

The roles taken on by NSW SES are probably more varied than you might suppose. This team gets involved in search and rescue for missing persons cases, they help firies when there are fire outbreaks, they assist on roadside accidents, and that is just where the hot hands-on action is.

There is also scope for volunteers with communication and administrative skills to help organise things in the background and ensure every operation runs cohesively.

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more and have your questions answered at the information night.
