Plastics Being Collected To Help Children
Collections of bread tags are donated to Aussie Bread Tags For Wheelchairs.
A Conservation group aiming to rescue plastic tops and bread bag tags from landfill to benefit the environment, and working with new and existing plastic recycling workshops to make products to benefit kids is hoping for your support.
The group accepts all types of milk bottle lids, sorting them into numbers (types) in workshops.
Then the lids are sent overseas to make prosthetic limbs for children in developing countries, via the Lids4Kids initiative.
They also accept soft plastics and blister packs (used medicine packaging) which again are sorted.
Money from recycling bread tags goes to the OZBreadTas charity which makes wheelchairs for young people in third world countries.
The is a 24/7 collection box out the front of Boorowa St John’s, where the group meets from 9am-12pm every Tuesday.
