Work has started at the much anticipated Tresillian Park inclusive playground and is set for completion in approximately one month.
The design for the inclusive play space aims to provide an inclusive play experience offering a range of play options for all to enjoy at the outdoor space in Young.
Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram said the truly inclusive design will ensure that no one misses out on the opportunity for social interaction and fun.
“I am so pleased to be able to provide an update on this much anticipated project for the community,” he said.
“The playground and amenities have been funded by the State Government and I thank Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke for her ongoing advocacy and support of this project.”
Playground equipment has been installed and the soft fall areas are currently being completed.
New barbecues at the park have also been installed, along with tables and chairs. The playground is due for completion in the coming weeks.
Council is also installing an amenities building at the playground and will provide facilities for all persons, including those with a disability.
An adult change table will be installed as part of these facilities.
“I know the community has been waiting to see work commence, so I thank everyone for their patience and very much look forward to a COVIDsafe official opening,” Mr Ingram said.
