Playing Ditch Weight

The continued fine weather has been appreciated by the Bowling Club members.

Thursday afternoon saw 16 players in attendance with four games of pairs being played.

There was one very big winning margin with George O’Neil and Tom Preston winning their game by 17 shots to claim the vouchers for the day.

The other three games were close contests with Les Fanning and Denis Rosen winning by 4 shots, Michael Webb and Joe Bargwanna winning their game by 2 shots and Harold Anderson and Col Chapman having a 1 shot margin.

There were 22 players nominated for Saturday afternoon with four games of pairs and a game of triples being played.

Once again there was one very big winning margin with Steve Walsh and Joe Bargwanna taking out their game by 22 shots.

Other winning teams and their margins were Glen Seward and Peter Watts (9 shots), Les Fanning and Brian Madden (7 shots), Scott Douglas and Tony Ruhl (2 shots) and Andrew Pratt, Phil Taylor and Glen Benson (2 shots).

The draws for the sectional games in the Zone 8 Pairs should be on display this week with the games to be played on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August.

Players are asked to check the notice board for information concerning the 2023–24 Club Triples Championship.

All players are reminded that their membership renewals for 2023-24 are now due.
