Bowls games during the past week have been played in pleasant conditions. There were 16 players involved on Thursday with four games of pairs being played.

Albert Carter and Brian Christie had the very big winning margin of 29 shots to be the voucher winners.

Allan Langford and Milan Brankovic won their game by 10 shots, Jim McQuade and Colin Chapman had a winning margin of 9 shots and Steve Walsh and Glen Benson sored 5 shots on the final end to win their game by 2 shots.

A good field of 22 players were on the green on Saturday afternoon.

Once again there was one big margin with Albert Carter and Greg Woods combining well to win their game by 15 shots.

The results for the other games were much closer.

Michael Adams and George Somerville had a winning margin of 6 shots, Joe Read and Tony Ruhl won their game by 4 shots, Glen Seward and Jono Watson won 21–18 and in the triples game an extra end was needed to give Darryle Miller, Colin Chapman and Glen Benson a margin of just 1 shot.

This weekend will see play in the Minor Pairs Championship with two games on Saturday and the final on Sunday.

On Saturday afternoon Chris Wright and Allan Langford will play Glen Seward and Joe Read and Ted Loader and Tony Ruhl will play Brian Christie and Brian McNair.

This week Peter Watts and Russell Boyd have been playing for Zone 8 in the NSW Senior Inter–Zone Championships.

Next week Jono Watson, Damien Miller and David Quigley will play for Zone 8 in the NSW Open Inter–Zone Championships.

Entries for the club’s Mixed Pairs Championships close on Sunday 2nd June.
