There were 16 players involved in Jackpot Bowls on Thursday afternoon.

All games produced big winning margins with Max Penfold and Joe Bargwanna taking out the vouchers when they won their game by 22 shots.

Other winning teams and their margins were Chris Wright and Geoff Holt (19 shots), Allan Langford and Mark Anderson (17 shots) and Ron Winders and Aldo Malvicino (18 shots).

Saturday afternoon saw 20 players participating in warm but pleasant conditions.

Four of the five games produced winning margins of less than 5 shots.

The only exception being the 10 shot margin for Tom Preston and Russell Boyd and this gave them the vouchers for the day.

In the other games Joe Read and Brian Madden won by 4 shots, Ray Pratt and Ron Winders won by 3 shots, Max Penfold and Ted Loader also won their game by 3 shots and after completing an extra end Glen Seward and Col Chapman won their game by 1 shot.

Play continued in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge on both Tuesday and Thursday nights. A small number of teams from the Thursday night division were affected by the Easter weekend but the vast majority were present.

Tigers Ltd were the winning team for Tuesday night and FATBBOTS were the winners on Thursday night.

This Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April the club will host the 2024 Bing Wallder Shield.

This will involve 96 players playing in teams of fours and representing the old districts in Zone 8.

There will be three games played on Saturday and two games on Sunday morning.

The club’s male bowlers should check two important sheets on the notice board.

The first one is the information sheet concerning Men’s Pennants for the 2024–25 season.

Besides providing the details of what has happened in Zone 8 for Men’s Pennants in 2022–23 and 2023-24 it also outlines how to indicate your interest in playing in this event for 2024–25.

The second is the flyer concerning a Men’s Pairs tournament to be played at the club on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May.
