Jackpot play on Thursday afternoon saw 14 players on the green. Milan Brankovic and Ian Schofield had the highest winning margin to claim the vouchers for the day when they won their game by 9 shots.

The next highest margin was 6 shots for George O’Neil, Albert Carter and Denis Rosen.

Probably the most important winning margin for the day was 2 shots for Harold Anderson and Les Fanning as this meant that they won the jackpot of $176.

Unfortunately, the rain on Tuesday and Wednesday meant that there was no play in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge on Wednesday night.

The Thursday night division games proceeded and Legs 11 scored 15 points to be the winners for the night.

The overall winners for Thursday night division were FATBBOTS who finished with 78 points.

Volleys 1 had the next best score with 73 points and just behind them on 72 points were the EFL team.

Boof’s Heroes had a total of 70 points and both Volleys 2 and 3G Mac Attack were on 69 points.

Thanks to all the teams who competed in this event in such a competitive but friendly manner.

Saturday afternoon saw 18 players participating.

There were big winning margins in three of the four games played. The highest of these was 25 shots for the team of Scott Douglas and Steve Walsh.

The other winning teams and their margins were Albert Carter and Ian Schofield (12 shots), Harold Anderson and Tom Preston (18 shots) and Les Fanning, Mark Brownlie and Denis Rosen (5 shots).

On Saturday and Sunday Zone 8 conducted the 2023 Bing Wallder Shield competition at Tumut.

Six sides, representing each of the previous six districts that made up Zone 8, competed.

Each side consisted of four teams of Fours.

Using the old names – the shield was won by Wagga District who were undefeated in all five games.

Seven players from Young played in the South Western District side. The side finished fourth and had an overall margin of –6 from their five games.

All club players are reminded that entries for the club’s Mixed Pairs Championship close on Thursday 13th April.

The first games are to be played on Saturday 15th April.

Entry details for the sectional games in the three divisions of the Zone 8 Singles Championship are on the notice board.

Players should note that there has been a small change to the original information with entries now closing on Saturday 8th April.

The Young Sporties Bowling Club will be open for lunch and dinner on Good Friday (7th April).

There will be Triples Social Bowls starting at 3.00 pm. The entry fee is $20 per player and there will be prizes for the winners and runners–up.
