Hilltops Community Hubs heads out on the road taking a pop-up pantry to ten towns around the Local Government Area commencing Friday, July 26.

The Hilltops Community Hub has organised a series of free one-off pop-up pantry visits to ten towns, commencing with Harden next Friday, July 26.

Hard Rock Gym will host the pop-up pantry between 10 am and 12 noon as Hub team members chat with residents and fill their shopping bags with their chosen items while they enjoy a nice cup of tea and bite to eat.

The Hub’s Naomi Peters said there was no cost to residents.

“A lot of the items have been purchased with a grant especially designed to offer material aid/support and some has been donated by community members,” Ms Peters said.

“Each family gets to pick six items - usually a pair, so really getting 12 items - from a list of 10 to 12 choices.

“For example, item one is one box of cereal and one litre of milk.”

People must be a resident of the Hilltops Local Government Area (LGA) in order to partake of the pop-up pantry bounty.

It is also limited to one shop per family so that as many families as possible can benefit from the produce.

The Memorial Hall in Wombat will be the venue for the second pop-up pantry later the same day, Friday, July 26 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
