Junior Rugby is kicking off for the Young Yabbies (Young Junior Rugby Union Club) on Friday 19th March, at Cranfield Oval, with a season launch and training starting at 5pm.
Registrations are now open to boys and girls aged 4-17 with touch, 15-a-side tackle, and girls Rugby 7s on offer (depending on ages).
The Junior Yabbies have a great draw this year, with three home gala days and minimal travel.
Players are asked to register prior to the 19th by downloading the RugbyXplorer app or by going to myaccount@rugby.com.au and creating an account.
New and interested players are welcome to come along on the night to experience what the Junior Yabbies have to offer. Junior Yabbies coaching staff will be on hand to start the season’s training with lots of skills, drills, fun and fitness. Parents and family are also invited to drop into the clubhouse for a cold drink and a complimentary bite to eat, and to enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere while the kids are training.
Regular training will continue every Friday evening throughout the season (times tbc dependent on age groups).
All attendees are required to sign in using the QR codes on the gates and to follow all Covid-safe guidelines.
Addionally, girls born 2004-2009 are eligible to play Rugby7s and/or Touch7s (at no additional cost). Girls interested in playing Rugby7s, should register for Rugby 7s only (Touch registration is included).
Former NSW player and Junior Yabbies Club Coach, Craig Taylor, is very excited about welcoming everyone to Cranfield Oval after the disruptions of 2020 due to Covid-19. “Rugby is full steam ahead this year,” Taylor said.
“Last year was disappointing, but that has only made the players and coaches hungrier and more motivated to have a massive season in 2021.”
All interested boys and girls (aged 4-17) are invited to register online now by downloading the RugbyXplorer app or by going to myaccount@rugby.com.au and creating an account. Or come along to training on Friday March 19th at 5pm at Cranfield Oval, Young.
