Robert Nash and Gwen O’Sullivan received beautifully worked blankets as a thank you for their service. Colleen Beckhaus made the quilt for Robert Nash and the RSL Auxiliary donated the quilt for Gwen O’Sullivan.

Prior to a short service at Anderson Park commencing at 11 am sharp on Remembrance Day, Saturday, November 11 after which veterans retired to the Young Services Club to catch up with each other, members of the RSL Subbranch/Auxiliary Young were selling badges at Westpac Bank on Friday, November 10.

RSL Subbranch/Auxiliary Young member, Colleen Beckhaus gave a huge thank you to the community for their support.

“We made a profit of $1683.50 for Young and surrounding areas,” Ms Beckhaus said.

“Thank you to all those who came by, bought something, helped sell and had a chat. To those who came on Remembrance Day, it was much appreciated by our veterans.”

“A big thank you to the wonderful Cadets for all of their help and participation, especially Major Phillip Mitchell (AAC), Ken and Sharon, radio stations and The Phoenix and RSL Subbranch/Auxiliary Young members.”

The RSL Subbranch/Auxiliary Young is a very active group within the local community.

In May they presented two quilts to members as a thank you for their service.

Colleen Beckhaus made the quilt presented to Rob Nash and the RSL Auxiliary donated the other for Gwen O’Sullivan.
