Friday the 18th of February saw the 2022 Boorowa Show Society’s 34th Flock Ewe competition entrants showing their maiden ewe flocks and showcasing Boorowa’s majestic fine wool merino sheep.
Flocks are judged on the following attributes: conformation, structure, size for type, culling percentage, presentation, wool quality and character for type, and wool quality for type. The judges were Will MacAlpine “The Marra”, Ben Lane “Templemore”, and James Barron “Adina Merino Stud”.
In order of the judging program itinerary, the 2022 Boorowa Show Flock Ewe Top 5 were:
- Murray Dymock “West Killanear”
- Ben and Toyha Johnson “Kyeemagh”
- Bruce and Narelle Nixon “Clovelly”
- Matt McGrath “Clear View South”
- Dermot and Teena McGrath “Clear View”
Congratulations to the Top 5 who will go on to exhibit ten maiden ewes from their flock on the main day of the Boorowa Show. To see the Top 5 in the flock ewe competition, be sure to lock in the date for the upcoming Boorowa Show on 5 th March 2022.
