Dingoes vs Wombats

The opening match of the day saw the Dingoes take on the Wombats in a hardfought contest under tough, hot conditions.

The Wombats came out firing, with Jennifer McKay and Greg Bannister proving difficult to contain early on, putting the Dingoes’ defence to the test.

Despite the pressure, James Cronin and Michael Adams held their ground, making it no easy task to break through.

In response, the Dingoes found their rhythm, guided by Brendan Sheppard in the middle. Kayden Ryan and Ruby Walsh consistently found open space, helping their team stay on the attack and keep the pressure on the Wombats.

But William Byrnes and Chris Hosken stood tall in defence, making the Dingoes work hard for every opportunity.

A standout for the Wombats was Cooper Saines, who had an exceptional game.

His quick ball movement and ability to create turnovers kept his team in the fight.

In the end, the Dingoes secured a 5-2 victory, though the contest felt much closer on the field. Both teams showed impressive resilience and skill, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.

Goal Scorers: Brendan Sheppard, James Cronin, Jimmy Cronin, Michael Walsh, Michael Adams (Dingoes), Jennifer McKay and Hayley Saines (Wombats).

The Hilltops Hornets vs Kookaburras

The Hilltops Hornets faced off against the Kookaburras in a thrilling match that showcased both skill and determination.

It was a true battle between two of the top teams this season, each eager to prove why they’re the ones to beat.

The Hornets dominated early, keeping the Kookaburra defence on high alert.

Tom Wills, Michael Killick, and Taylah Murray worked seamlessly to drive the ball into the circle, making life difficult for their opponents.

Despite the relentless pressure, Fred Dimmick and Bryce Weedon stood firm, keeping the Hornets at bay.

In response, Hannington Sibanda and Janice Dunk spearheaded the Kookaburras’ counterattacks with fluid ball movement.

Yet, they found their own challenges in the circle, where Sarah Wills was a wall of defence, blocking several attempts on goal.

The game was a seesaw of momentum,

with both teams trading brilliant goals and refusing to back down. In the end, it was the Hilltops Hornets who edged ahead, clinching a hard-fought 4-3 victory.
