Kookaburras Soar to Victory in Thrilling Twilight ClashRound 4 of the Summer Twilight Competition saw the action heat up as teams battled it out in a fantastic evening of hockey.

Spectators were treated to an electrifying showdown between the Kookaburras and Dingoes, facing off for the first time in what proved to be a gripping contest.

The opening half was a tightly contested affair, with both sides trading goals in a fast-paced display. Brendan Sheppard and Michelle Cronin gave the Dingoes an early edge, each finding the net with precision to take a narrow lead into halftime.

However, the Kookaburras came out firing in the third quarter.

Trailing by a single goal, they turned up the intensity, dominating the field with a blistering attacking display. Janice Dunk, Lucy Dunk, Joshua Sibanda, and Nathabo Sibanda combined to produce an unstoppable five-goal blitz, leaving the Dingoes scoreless for the quarter.

Lucy Dunk was outstanding, slotting home three goals thanks to pinpoint assists from Nathabo and Jude Sibanda, who controlled the midfield with skill and composure.

The Dingoes fought back in the final quarter, with Kayden Ryan and James Cronin netting late goals in a desperate push to close the gap.

But their efforts fell short, as the Kookaburras held firm to secure a well-earned 6-4 victory.

Wombats Power Past Wallabies in Hard-Fought BattleThe second game of the afternoon saw the Wallabies and Wombats face off in another thrilling contest.

From the opening whistle, both teams showcased strong defensive play, making it difficult for either side to find the net in the early stages.

It was Faith Freeman who finally broke the deadlock, slotting the first goal for the Wombats and giving them a narrow lead.

The Wallabies quickly responded

through Monique Woodward, who displayed impressive skill in midfield before threading the ball through her opponent’s legs to level the score.

However, the Wombats struck back almost immediately, with Tom Wills weaving through the Wallabies’ defence to reclaim the advantage.

Refusing to let their opponents gain momentum, the Wallabies pressed forward with intensity.

Izack Meharg and Matilda Woodward combined brilliantly to push the attack, and Meharg capitalized on a loose ball in the goal circle to bring the scores level once again.

The second half saw the Wombats take control, as Cooper Saines, Faith Freeman, and Greg Bannister each found the back of the net in a dominant attacking display.

But the Wallabies were not finished yet—Andrew Pratt seized a late opportunity, tapping in a loose ball to keep his team in the contest.

Despite their efforts, the Wallabies couldn’t close the gap, and the Wombats secured a 5-3 victory.

The final game of the afternoon saw DTS forced to forfeit, handing the Hilltops Hornets a default victory.

With such high-quality play and fierce competition on display, Round 4 has set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
