The opening night of the annual Sculpture Wood and Big Art Exhibition as part of the Hilltops Off the Beaten Track Art and Cultural Trail is always an event not to be missed.

Entries are now closed for the Young Society of Artists Inc Sculpture Wood and Big Art Exhibition with entries submitted from artists across the regions.

The exhibition will open on Wednesday, March 13 with the official opening of the Hilltops Off the Beaten Track Art and Cultural Trail.

An invitation is extended to all Hilltops community members to go along and enjoy a night of fine art, live mood music provided by singer-songwriter Judy Barker and a Taste of the Hiolltops grazing table with complimentary wine and door prizes.

Entry costs $10.

Executive Director of Southern Tablelands Arts Rose Marin will officially open the exhibition and the Hilltops Art and Cultural Trail.

The Young Society of Arts 2024 Sculpture Wood and Big Art exhibition will feature the work of Sydney sculptural, painter and land artist Keith Chidzey.

After 20 years of private practice dentistry, Mr Chidzey completed a Master’s Research Degree in Sculpture, Performance and Installation at the College of Fine Arts (University of New South Wales).

“The land, its interpretation, and issues surrounding its usage and intervention have been a recurring theme throughout my work,” Mr Chidzey said.

“My university research centred around fire and refinement through fire, its controllability, its significance and its aesthetic and hypnotic qualities.”

The exhibition showcases many elements of his work over recent years.

The exhibition will be open daily from Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, March 24.

A gold coin donation would be appreciated.
