Over seventy seniors from the Hilltops region travelled by buses from Boorowa, Harden and Young to Galong Monastery last Thursday 21 February for the Hilltops Seniors Festival Lunch.
The seniors enjoyed morning tea on arrival before a guided tour of the grounds of St Clements and learnt about the rich and colourful history dating back to the 1830’s. They were then seated in the beautiful and historic dining room for a two course lunch. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
This event was presented by Hilltops Council as part of the NSW Seniors Festival, which is designed to celebrate the role seniors play and the contributions they make to the NSW community, aligning to the policy objective of inclusive communities. The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere, reaching up to 500,000 seniors each year.
