IMAGE: Murrumburrah welcomes two noted street artists to the inaugural Silo Art Fest on October, 9.

Two internationally acclaimed street artists will join Australia’s renowned silo artist Heesco at the Harden Murrumburrah Silo Art Fest next month.

Damien Mitchell and Luke Brown will travel from the United States to demonstrate their skills and participate in a Q&A session.

Mitchell may be an international artist now, but he started painting in Wagga Wagga in his teens.

His creativity breathes new and vibrant life into murals and art in public places.

Mitchell’s creative drawings and sketches, spray painted by freehand evolve into dramatic art pieces.

Living in Brooklyn at the moment, he has painted on five continents. Luke Brown spends hundreds of hours working on each of his paintings, taking from six months to two years to complete.

With over 20 years of experience, Brown is best known for his obsessive attention to detail, using the smallest brushes available.

Both artists will encourage attendees to get involved and try their hand at creating, in keeping with the interactive concept of the family-friendly festival.

The hands-on event encourages both adults and children to learn and action techniques and includes a host of instant art competitions throughout the day.

Attendees can try their hand at everything from First Nation weaving, sculpture and wood turning through to painting, paint pouring and Pattina Alchemy.

You can even try your hand at gold panning, bush bands and hot dampers for a taste of our history.

Silo Art Fest will take place on Sunday, October 9 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Mill Park, Murrumburrah.
