Work has begun on upgrades to the Boorowa Horse Arena and Boorowa Tennis Courts thanks to funding from the Stronger Communities Fund Round 2.
Construction has begun on stage 1 at the Boorowa Horse Arena, which will see a cover over half of the national level horse arena, along with associated yards and flooring. The cover is due for completion in early March.
Hilltops Mayor Brian Ingram is pleased with the progress and opportunities associated with the facility. “This will be a great asset for Boorowa and the Hilltops region. The ability to host national events will provide significant economic benefit to the community,” he shared.
Stage 2 of the project will be to extend the cover across the entire arena. Hilltops Council have made an application for this in the Stronger Communities Fund Round 3.
Preparation has also begun on a high quality acrylic surface on two courts as part of stage 1 of the project at the Boorowa Tennis Courts. Stage 2 of the project includes the installation of lighting and stage 3 providing an additional 2 multipurpose courts.
Hilltops Council have also made an application in the Stronger Communities Fund Round 3 for stage 2 of this project.
