Stockinpiggle Finds Home At Barnes Store Emporium And Cafe

Wendy and Stephen Byrne at Barnes Store Emporium and Cafe have long championed local businesses and produce wherever possible.

Their latest partnership with Stockinpiggle Farm Produce - Cootamundra NSW, is a testament to their continued advocacy for shopping local.

The partnership means that Harden and Murrumburrah residents who have been purchasing their produce from Stockinpiggle Farm Produce online or making the trek across to Cootamundra can now drop in at Barnes Store Emporium and Cafe and source the same produce more locally.

It also offers an opportunity for those who haven’t tried the delicious array of smoked salts and oils, chutneys, jams and food that the couple makes from scratch to give them a go.

Stockinpiggle meat is pasture-raised and grass-fed and is now available out of Murrumburrah.

“Everybody in business today is doing it tough,” Wendy said.

“We smoke all our own products. We make our own relish and smoked olive oil using Yass olive oil. We’ve just made a large range of corporate baskets. It’s a huge part of our business now.”

Wendy said their new products are thanks to the time they had to spend trying new things when locked down by COVID.

They smoke Yandilla Mustard oil from Yass. Along with fermenting and smoking chilli and garlic to create a delicious black garlic salt with their other products, the couple operates a very popular cafe.

“We have a great lot of local kids who help out,” Wendy said. “We love to get involved with the kids.”

The cafe is doing very well and Wendy believes that much of the success is due to the fact that they create their own products, source local ingredients and are generous with their serve sizes.

“We’re a bit famous for our breakfasts,” she said.

“My husband makes the waffles.When the Griffith soccer clubs come through they ring ahead and Stephen gets the waffles going. We’re very generous.”
