It is time once again for Jugiong’s biennial Art Exhibition and Sale at the Jugiong Memorial Hall.

This exciting cultural event will take place from November 22 to 24, with all proceeds going to support the maintenance and repair of the historic St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Jugiong.

Organising committee member Paula Butt said the weekend kicks off with a cocktail party on Friday, November 22 at 7 pm. “The cocktail party costs $55 per person and will run from 7 pm to 10 pm; bookings online,” Ms Butt said.

“The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. It’s just a beautiful community event. Everyone is welcome. It is an amazing promotion of artists.

There are 80 artists, with up to 180 pieces of art, all for sale.”

Feature artist this year is acclaimed artist Liz Rowe from Little Billabong, NSW. With 30 years of experience, Liz is known for her vibrant watercolours that beautifully capture the essence of still life, botanicals, and wildlife. Her deep connection to nature shines through in every piece, making her work a must-see for art lovers.

One of the aims of the exhibition is to feature a wide variety of styles and subjects, from traditional to contemporary works. It’s also a wonderful chance to come together, share some laughs and discover something new. Two Artists in Residence, including feature artist Liz Rowe and local artist Stephanie Corkhill Hyles, will paint live during the weekend, giving spectators an opportunity to watch the creative process unfold.

It is not too late for artists to enter their own works for the exhibition; submissions close Friday, November 15, art entries are limited, though. Younger local artists from Jugiong Public School will have their own exhibition space in the front foyer of the hall, giving them a unique opportunity to showcase their work in a professional setting.

The Young Artists section has been a highlight of previous exhibitions, and organisers are excited to see their contributions again in 2024.

As a special highlight, Liz Rowe has generously donated a stunning piece titled Outback Cocky for our raffle.

Tickets are $2 and will be available throughout the weekend or at the Jugiong Wine Cellar.

Visit www.jugiongartexhibition.com for bookings and art enquiries or call Stephanie Corkhill Hyles on 0427 201 293 or Paula Butt on 0413 137 601.
