The New Hilltops Council

On the 5th of January, 2022, the newly-elected Hilltops Councillors were sworn in.

The new Councillors are Gregory Armstrong, Mary Dodd, Patrick Fitzgerald, Tony Flanery, Alison Foreman, Brian Ingram, Tony Hewson, Joanne MacKay, John Piper, Margaret Roles, and Matthew Stadtmiller.

The new Hilltops Councillors elected a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Councillor Margaret Roles was elected as Mayor and Councillor Alison Foreman was elected as Deputy Mayor. Councillor Roles secured eight out of eleven votes, beating Councillor Armstrong, who also nominated for the position of Mayor.

Councillor Foreman secured seven out of eleven votes, beating Councillor Flanery, who also nominated for the position of Deputy Mayor.

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor will serve a shorter term, until September 2023.

New meeting dates

The dates for the Ordinary Meeting of Council were set for 2022 and 2023. Ordinary Council Meetings take place on every fourth Wednesday of the month, with the exception of December which is the third Wednesday of the month, commencing at 4.30pm.

The new meeting dates for 2022 are as follows:

• 25 May 2022
• 22 June 2022
• 27 July 2022
• 24 August 2022
• 28 September 2022
• 26 October 2022
• 23 November 2022
• 14 December 2022.

Goldenfields Water County Council Board Elections

Councillors Stadtmiller and Piper were elected to the Goldenfields Water County Council Board.
