IMAGE: Excitement is building for the Boorowa Irish Woolfest which is just a handful of days away.

The Boorowa Irish Woolfest, complete with the famous Running of the Sheep, will kick off on Friday, October 4 - just one week away - with a range of events to get everyone in the festive mood.

Art lovers will be delighted with a charity art show and sale cocktail party showing off the talent of local artists at the Old Courthouse Building, Marsden Street from 5 pm to 7 pm.

This is a charity event and will cost $10 to enter.

There will be live music performances at the Boorowa Hotel from 6:30 pm on Friday, October 4.

If you’re in the mood for a good belly laugh, you might like to head over to The Occasional Bar for a comedy show with Chris Ryan and Emo Parsonson from 6 pm.

There is so much to see and do during the Boorowa Irish Woolfest.

The kids will love the carnival rides, face painting, bubble artists and, of course, the petting zoo where they’ll get up close with adorable farm animals.

If you think you could stuff your face with more pies than the next guy, you might want to try out the pie-eating competition.

Maybe your stomach isn’t where your strength lies - perhaps your tongue wields the power and you have the ability to speak with a superb Irish accent.

On Saturday, October 5 from 6 pm, The Hilltops Community Hub will host an outdoor movie, with food vans, face painting and fireworks.

There will be demonstrations, market stalls, displays and much, much more.
