David Webster and Donna Burns put in a solid defensive effort for the Wallabies, denying the Hornets multiple scoring opportunities.
Meanwhile, Zac Williams and Ned Mullany helped drive the Hornets forward, each using their skill to maneuver past the defense and score a goal.
As the match wore on, the intensity remained high.
Brendan Sheppard managed to find the backboard for the Wallabies, keeping his team in the fight.
However, the Hornets responded with goals from Taylah Murray and Luke Cosgrove, ultimately securing a 4-2 victory in a highly entertaining contest.
Dingoes Claim Narrow Victory Over DTS
The second match of the day featured a competitive clash between the Dingoes and DTS, with both teams continuing to build chemistry as they integrate new players into their squads.
The Dingoes found space and moved the ball effectively, with Ruby Walsh playing a pivotal role in their attack by holding her position well.
However, Michael Skillen and David Hall anchored a strong defensive effort for DTS, stopping many of the Dingoes’ advances.
Charlie Bielefeld and Isabelle Douglass were also key for DTS, consistently disrupting the Dingoes’ offensive plays.
Despite solid defensive efforts from James Cronin and Michael Walsh, DTS struck first when Charlie Bielefeld slipped the ball past them to open the scoring.
The Dingoes quickly responded, with Ruby Walsh breaking through the DTS defense and scoring an equaliser.
The game remained evenly matched, with both teams battling back and forth in a tense showdown.
However, in the fourth quarter, Elijah Meharg delivered a stunning goal for the Dingoes, securing a 2-1 victory in a hardfought encounter.
