The Murrumburrah-Harden Community Garden will host a workshop on succulents on Sunday, November 13 from 10 am to 12 noon.

A spokesperson for the community garden, Rita O’Connor said renowned Canberra horticulturalist, Jackie Warburton will share her insights on plants in general and succulents in particular.

“We will give everyone a pot and the correct blend of washed river sand/potting mix and Jackie will bring a selection of succulent cuttings,” Mrs O’Connor said.

“She will show everyone how to make a mixed pot, which people may give away as Christmas gifts or keep for themselves. We’d love to encourage people from all over Hilltops. It will be held at the community garden and people can bring a chair if they would like (we have limited seating there).”

For just $5 you can enjoy a sausage sandwich and a drink following the workshop.

While everything apart from the sausage sizzle is free, people have been asked for a gold coin donation upon entry to the garden.

Please RSVP to Rita O’Connor on the garden’s various Facebook pages or direct on 0407 227 140 as soon as possible.
