The Wombat Hotel Social Club decided to do something a bit different and put on a bit of posh and get everyone to dress up and raise money and awareness for RUOK?

Wombat Hotel’s Vicky Morton said that they were looking forward to a really good night. “The King and Queen, Prince and Princess will be crowned on the night,” Vicky said.

“There’s going to be a guest speaker from Wagga and we’ll be auctioning off a spirit bottle.”

As a member of the small farming community, Vicky said that farmers worked long and hard and they had experienced a few hard knocks recently and it was important to remember to check in every now and then.

She is hoping that everyone will put their glad rags on and head over to the Wombat Hotel on Saturday, November 5 for loads of fun and games and live music.

Tickets are $250 for a table of 10 or single tickets can be purchased for $30 each.

When asked how the Hotel was doing, Vicky said they were holding their own.

“It’s not as big as years previous and the rain hasn’t helped, but it’s going okay,” she said.

“Local participation is great. We live for our locals. A pub’s not just a pub, it’s a hub. We support our own.”

They still host bingo, social darts and bike and car nights.

The bistro is open from Wednesday to Sunday - and, yes, you can get a nice Sunday roast.

The Wombat Hotel Social Club is hoping the event will go off with a bang and can be incorporated as an annual event.
