SW District Mixed Pairs winners Terry and Judith Mulligan being presented with their winning certificates and medals by SWD Women’s Bowls Association President, Heather Bailey.

Congratulations to four of the Club’s women who contested the Regional Pairs play- off at Condobolin last week. Kathryn Betcher and Margo Parker won the Open Pairs after winning their game against the Southern Slopes team 28/6 and then a win of 22/11 against Central Riverina District. Jenny Holt and Kate Cooper won the Senior Pairs play-off after beating Central Riverina 22/16 and Southern Slopes 20/10. A great effort by the Club’s girls who now go through to State finals.

Also to be congratulated are Young members Judith and Terry Mulligan who won the South West District Mixed Pairs on Saturday the 10th of October at Cootamundra Country Club. Nine teams entered the competition, 5 of them being from Young. In the final Round Robin, Judith and Terry had a win in Set 1 against Robyn and Tom Apps from Harden 7/4 then in Set 2 Robyn and Tom won 4/3. After winning a set each, a tie breaker was played with the win going to Judith and Terry. This was indeed an exciting game to watch with both teams playing some great shots.

Last Thursday, the 8th of October at social bowls, 6 ladies played Turn-around-Triples, a game where 18 ends are played and each player has a turn of playing 6 ends as lead, second and skip. Heather Bailey, Jill Rosen and Kate Cooper had a win of 22/12 against Therese Ruhl, Sheila Traynor and Kathryn Betcher. It was a very pleasant afternoon of bowls.
