The Young and District Multicultural Association celebrated a combined Christmas in July and birthdays at Cloverleigh Golf Club.
Association President, Josie Johnson said it was a beautiful setting on a lovely sunny winter’s day enjoyed by more than 50 happy attendees of all ages.
“It was a great family outing by all,” Ms Johnson said. “There were plenty of foods cooked by Chillian, Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese, English, Filipino, Aussies and Taiwanese.”
They had five July birthdays to celebrate, complete with candles to blow out and cakes to enjoy, from an 8-year-old to an 80-year-old.
Young and old enjoyed games of pinata, musical chairs, statue dance and a Taiwanese game of spot grouping and some even played golf. Ms Johnson thanked Peter and Tony Frecklington for the hospitality.
“To all YADMA members who donated raffle prizes and games, thank you all,” she said. “Thank you Santa Claus for coming to give sweet treats, too.”
YADMA meets every second Tuesday of the month at Young Services Club in the Ibis Room.
The next meeting will be held on August 8 from 6 pm to plan ahead for their major event - Harmony Gala Dinner scheduled for March 24, 2024.
New members are always welcome to join the monthly meetings.
