The Young Hospital Auxiliary hosted a luncheon on Sunday, june 16 at the Young Golf Club for 50 guests.

The guest speaker was the 2024 Wagga Citizen of the Year, Mrs Annette St Clair.

Mrs St Clair delivered a very poignant address about the journey of her family and, in particular her daughter Amie, when she was diagnosed with melanoma.

Amie lost her battle with the cancer aged just 23.

Out of a dark situation, the St Clair family set about raising awareness of melanoma.

The importance of knowing your body and hte importance of seeking early medical advice was emphased by Mrs St Clair.

The Amie St Clair Trust, established in 2010, amalgamated with Melanoma Australia Institute resulting in a Wagga clinic able to perform 3D full body imaging and employing a full-time Melanoma nurse.

The Hospital Auxiliary thanked Mrs St Clair for travelling to Young to present such an interesting and informative address.

Lyn Freudenstein presente4d Mrs St Clair with a gift of appreciation.
