The Young Hospital Auxiliary recently held a successful High Tea as part of their fundraising efforts for the Hospital.
Over a hundred people attended the High Tea, which was held at the St John’s Anglican Hall.
The High Tea featured floral arrangements, herb and lavender posy centre-pieces, linen serviettes, lace and damask tablecloths, fine china and an array of savoury and sweet treats.
“Hospital Auxiliary members did a wonderful job catering and cannot be thanked enough for the effort they put into raising money for the Hospital. St John’s Hall is a wonderful venue and we are extremely grateful for being allowed to use the facility and all the equipment,” said Hospital Auxiliary President Janice Ward.
There was also a raffle drawn on the day. First prize was a quilt made by Mary Leask, quilted by Liz Burlington and donated by Mary Leask and her sister Jean Warren. Second prize was a gift basket donated by Poppa’s Fudge Factory and third prize was a $50 gift voucher donated by Pink Pots. First prize was won by C. Forrester, second by Meg Bailes and third by J. Wall.

Useful purchases the Auxiliary have already made this year total $18,349.31, including 2 fall mats with control boxes ($1,206.48), 4 heel elevators ($593.663), 3 High-low beds ($10,104.81) and 3 Powerlift recliners ($6,444.36).
The Auxiliary always welcomes new members and were pleased to welcome three new members who helped out at the High Tea. “We are really delighted that we have just gained three new members, who helped out hostessing and in the kitchen. They are Year 10 students Elizabeth Bragg, Chantelle Huxtable and Michelle Cram and we really hope that these young ladies enjoy joining us and working for the benefit of the whole community,” said President Janice Ward.
The Auxiliary have several events planned for November. The monthly meeting will take place in the meeting room at the Hospital at 10.30am on Thursday the 7th of November, Christmas raffle tickets will be on sale at IGA on Friday the 15th and 22nd of November and there will be a Meat Raffle at the S & C Club on Saturday the 30th of November from 6.30pm.
