Young MOW Farewells A Legend

She has delivered hundreds of meals as a volunteer for Young Meals on Wheels, but Mrs Glenda Smithers has finally called it a day.

Mrs Smithers served her local community for 59 years - 50 as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

The team at Meals On Wheels wishes her the very best for the future and offer her their thanks for her amazing years of service.

As with all organisations that rely heavily on volunteers, Meals on Wheels had its numbers drastically affected at the height of the pandemic when those 70 years or older had to stop until further notice.

Fortunately, there were people who stepped up to keep the meals flowing proving once again that Young has a great community spirit. Meals On Wheels delivers hot lunches and frozen meals that are easy to re-heat. They also organise social outings.
