The Young and District Netball Association has received a $4500 grant from the NSW Government’s Sports Grants.

The funding will be used by the Association to subsidise registration fees, as well as purchasing uniforms and new equipment.

Vice President of the Young and District Netball Association Melinda Hambrook said the grant would help bring through the next generation of players in the region. “This grant is excellent news for us because it will inspire and hopefully bring more juniors to join the club, help them to enjoy all the fun of sport and help us to provide new equipment,” Ms Hambrook said.

“It will be fantastic to be able to bring some new little ones through by subsidising their registrations and get some new equipment for them.” Member for Cootamunda Steph Cooke said the grant will help secure the next generation of netballers. “We have such a strong netball community and this grant will mean the Young and District Netball Association is well placed for the future,” Ms Cooke said.

“Sport is so important for our communities and it is such a pleasure to announce this funding which will make it possible for even more young people to get involved.”
