The final of the 2019/20 Summer League competition was played on Sunday the 1st of December at the Young Bowling Club. The Harden Hunnies (Pat Walker, Chris Handcock and Kelly Daley) defeated their club mates, the Harden Hawks (Dianne DeBritt, Ann Larson and Robyn Apps) 17/10. The winners will now compete in the regional competition at Blacktown 28/29 February and 1st March 2020. It was a great competition at the local district level and teams will look forward to competing again next year.

At social bowls on Tuesday the 10th of December, play commenced a bit earlier because of the predicted heat. Only 12 ends of 3 bowl pairs were played. Zita Farrell and Ann Gardner had a win over Jill Rosen and Elsie Hines with a 6-point margin, Judith Mulligan and Sheila Traynor defeated Joy Murray and Judy Watson by 5 shots and Pat Reid and Margaret Gailey had a convincing win over Heather Bailey and Julie Alavoine. Pat and Margaret won the vouchers with the biggest margin of 13 points.

The final of the YBC Mixed Pairs Championship was played at the Club on Thursday the 5th of December. It was a close contest between Judith and Terry Mulligan and Sheila and Cliff Traynor, but finally it was the Mulligans who reigned supreme winning with a margin of 5 shots.

The Christmas morning tea will be held at the Club on Tuesday the 17th of December following a short game of bowls. Names to be in by 9am to start play at 9.30am. At the December monthly meeting, members indicated whether they would bring sandwiches or slice on the day. This will be the last game for the year.

Twilight bowls will begin on Wednesday the 9th of January. Names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start.

The first social bowls day of the new year will be on Tuesday the 14th of January.
