The last social gathering on Tuesday the 17th of December was very enjoyable. Prior to Christmas morning tea, 12 women participated in a game of Pairs playing only 12 ends in order to beat the heat. Christmas music played in the background making for a few new bowls moves!

Heather Bailey and Judy Watson had a win against Ann Gardner and Sheila Traynor, Judith Mulligan and Pat Reid narrowly defeated Jill Rosen and Julie Alavoine and Robyn Tierney and Margo Parker, who gained the biggest margin, won the club vouchers. Jill Rosen won the prize for the amount of Resting Touchers rolled during the year.

There was a presentation of membership of Women’s Bowls NSW before sitting down to a scrumptious morning tea. Judy Watson, Margaret Glasheen and Mary Frost were awarded certificates for 30 years bowls membership while Ann Gardner, Zita Farrell, Judith Mulligan, Thelma Roberts and Heather Bailey received certificates for 10 years of membership.

Instead of Christmas presents to each other, as last year, members donated women’s toiletries to the Crisis Centre. Manager Gwen Gunning was very grateful to Women’s Bowls President, Heather Bailey and her Club for their generosity.

Women’s bowls will resume January the 14th. Wishing all a safe and enjoyable festive season.
