The Summer League competition is hotting up with only 1 week left before the winners of Section 1 and 2 play off for a position in the State finals. Results are as follows: Sunday, 15th November - Section 1: Young Cherryettes (on 8 points) beat Harden Hawks (on 2 points) and Young Herz (on 6 points) defeated Cootamundra Mixed Girls (0 points).

Section 2: Grenfell Girls (on 6 points) beat Forever Young (on 4 points) while Slightly Biassed (Young- 4 points) defeated Boorowa Sweathearts (on 2 points).

Sunday, 22nd November- Section 1: Harden Hawks (4 points) defeated Cootamundra Mixed Girls (0 points) while Young Herz (8 points) defeated Young Cherryettes (8 points).

Section 2: Forever Young (6 points) beat Boorowa Sweathearts (2 points) while Slightly Biassed (Young-6 points) defeated Grenfell Girls (6 points).

So, next Sunday, 29th November should be a close contest with 2 teams in Section 1 on 8 points each and in Section 2 three teams have 6 points each.

Last Thursday, 19th November, 14 women enjoyed Social bowls. Pat Walker, Judith Mulligan and Sheila Traynor had a convincing win over Zita Farrell, Heather Bailey and Robyn Apps while 2 games of Pairs were played. Joan Clarke and Jenny Holt had a victory over Leigh Veitch and Elsie Hines while Chris Hancock and Judy Watson narrowly defeated Jill Rosen and Margaret Gailey. Sheila’s team won the Club vouchers having the highest margin.

The 1st round of the YBC Mixed Pairs Championship has begun with the following results. Meagan Parker and Damien Miller defeated Ann Gardner and Joe Bargwanna; Jenny and Jeff Holt defeated Kathryn Betcher and Peter Watts; Margaret and Ian Gailey defeated Heather Bailey and Ian Schofield while John and Kate Cooper had a win over Therese Ruhl and Mark Anderson. A few teams have yet to play the 1st round.
