It is that time of year again - time to organise the annual Cherry Festival Competitive Art Exhibition, one of the major events in the program.

This year marks the 40th annual fine art exhibition put together by members of the Young Society of Artists.

Held in the Young Town Hall, they are expecting a large number of entries this year, with all artworks on display for five days - November 29 to December 3.

With 11 categories to enter and over $4,000 in prize money up for grabs, now is the time for artists to get creative.

Prizes were kindly donated by local businesses and individual sponsors, including two Acquisitive Prizes sponsored by Grove Estate and YLAD Living Soils.

People’s Choice and 22 Art prizes have been sponsored by Judd Morris Roofing Pty Ltd, Young Workwear, Lions Club of Young, Young Eyes Optometry, Framaglass, Southwest Slopes Credit Union, Blantyre Farms, Annabel Wallace Gallery, G&J Trudgett, Young Town Hall News Agency, Donges IGA, Ballinaclash Wines and YSA Inc Wines.

Entry forms for the exhibition are now available from the Young Town Hall, Young Hilltops Visitors Centre, Burrangong Gallery and the Hilltops Libraries of Young, Boorowa and Harden.

All entries must be received by November 15.

Hilltops communities and visitors have been invited to attend the Official Opening and Awards Night, complete with refreshments and live music by singer-songwriter Judy Barker.
